Wireless Technology Assessment
Nexlink often consults with carriers looking to deploy new technologies, or companies that are interested in entering into the wireless space, building strategic plans to address wireless opportunities. This includes all mobile technologies (CDMA, GSM, UMTS) at all generations (2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G, 4G) as well as technologies such as WiMAX, OFDM, 802.11, and others. Nexlink also assists operators with equipment procurement, vendor qualification and project tendering and selection.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Nexlink prepares market-specific analysis for the geographic area(s) to be deployed. This analysis is based on marketing goals, including service offering, target customers, cost models and other appropriate criteria. The market analysis serves to identify specific coverage objective areas, service metric goals and timelines for network implementation and deployment. Once the client defines the desired coverage footprint, Nexlink classifies the market by morphology, population density and/ or land use data into urban, dense urban, light urban, suburban, rural and highway morphology to help better address overall design and business objectives.
Deliverables include:
- Market analysis
- Licenses bid support
- Demographic analysis
- Price elasticity of demand studies
- Competitive analysis
- Final recommendations
Nexlink Global Services keeps you connected. Utilizing the latest in-building technology -iBWave, MapInfo, FCC database- we work with clients to ensure a strong signal - everytime and all the time.
Other Operational Services
Managing network maintenance separately can be costly and inefficient, however, because Nexlink manages maintenance activities for wireless providers, clients receive the best performance at the lowest possible cost. A well maintained, advanced network will require less corrective maintenance and will be easier and more reliable to operate. Nexlink works with wireless operators and/or partners to provide operations and maintenance solutions that range from network inspection to vendor management, subsequently aiding in client satisfaction and additional profitability.
MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS
Operation and maintenance activities can be grouped into three main categories: preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and network operations. Nexlink performs an in-depth network audit to highlight all immediate and imminent criticalities, defining the road map of maintenance activities to perform. Afterwards, preventive maintenance ensures networks will continue to operate under normal conditions. On the operational side, monitored activities include network surveillance, help desk, support, performance management, dispatch, OSS support, application management and network configuration management.
NETWORK MANAGEMENT
Wireless operators who work with Nexlink on network management see great cost savings and business efficiencies, with an immediate 10-20% reduction of costs for the first two years, and a long-term reduction of cost in the 20-30% range. More importantly, network elements experience less down time (20-30%), and there is a significant reduction (20-40%) in the number of service orders per network element.
Nexlink can manage all vendors involved in the network maintenance, freeing operators from dealing with different suppliers, providing the highest quality and ensuring the fastest delivery.
O&M services—Nexlink’s technical services teams draw upon our incomparable experience in project management and wireless network design and deployment. Our O&M teams are local problem-solvers: in-market, in touch and on top of every detail. They’re ferreting out the cause of dropped calls, switching out a faulty card at a base station and providing maintenance services for base station facilities. We take care of our clients’ networks as if they were our own—correcting issues within hours, not days. But beyond network failures, Nexlink’s O&M teams also handle routine network maintenance and upgrades, giving clients a single, predictable and responsive point of contact for both time-critical troubleshooting and planned maintenance.
Preventative and corrective maintenance—At the heart of outsourcing network operation—ensuring lower costs and better network performance—is Nexlink’s preventative and corrective maintenance capabilities. To ensure networks function under normal conditions, corrective maintenance offers a support function for isolated problems. Nexlink performs monthly structural checks; functional tests and software and hardware checks; quarterly checks; call testing, inventories, battery checks; microwave and property maintenance and annual checks; power supply; grounding tests and antenna tests. Corrective maintenance also includes alerts, disaster recovery services and any failures that are able to be managed within a reasonable timeframe.
Network operations—In the current wireless space, to manage network maintenance separately can be costly and inefficient. Nexlink runs the maintenance activities for several operators, assuring the best performance at the lowest possible cost on network operations such as network surveillance, help desk, support, performance management, dispatch, OSS support, application management and network configuration management.
SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT
Nexlink’s experienced engineering team has decades of experience in frequency relocation, spectrum clearing and spectrum management. We understand the need for a detailed project setup, thorough project tracking, how to ensure incumbent satisfaction and provide cost effective relocation solutions to minimize ancillary equipment costs.
Nexlink can manage the entire relocation process of the incumbent system, act as the agent for the entrant in negotiations with the incumbent and with the clearing house, make available the required professionals at all phases of the project and ensure FCC compliance.
We have the engineering capacity, project management experience and, most importantly, the history of success that our clients demand when handling the often delicate and complicated spectrum management process.
